Call For Artists: Immovable Feast
Exhibit with ShowUp at 2026’s Affordable Art Fair as we create an ‘Immovable Feast’ filled with delectable representations of comfort food, cultural touchstones, home cooking, and fanciful dining.
Food and eating is a central part of human life – one of the few truly universal things that connects us all. Food is fuel, and engaging with it can range in experience from banal to transcendent. Food can delight or disgust, provide comfort, or take us on an adventure.
ShowUp invites local artists of all levels to submit work for consideration to a juried group show which will be exhibited at Boston’s Affordable Art Fair in October.
We are seeking artworks that feature the following themes:
Celebrations of local food
Feasting, dining and the act of sharing meals
Food as a site of cultural exchange
Emotional ties to food
Artists are invited to submit up to five ready-to-hang works for consideration. It is free to submit, and every artist may only submit one set of works. We prioritize local artists, as this is Boston’s edition of the Affordable Art Fair, so we are looking for that home-grown flavor. We will consider you local if your piece can be dropped off and picked up in person (by you or your representative). We cannot include shipped work.
