Opening of Maryam Safajoo: Repetitious Insecurity and June First Friday

ShowUp is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition, Repetitious Insecurity, a solo exhibition of works by Persian-American painter, activist & 2025 Guggenheim Fellow, Maryam Safajoo. Repetitious Insecurity showcases narrative paintings, which are each meticulous recreations of her interviews with victims of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the 1979 revolution. They powerfully illustrate the systemic persecution and repression of members of the Baha'i faith.

Repetitious Insecurity will run from June 6th - July 20th, 2025. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm. The event is free to attend; registration is requested but not required.
